As bright blocked colours come back onto the catwalks after long periods of black, the young and restless rush out to their nearest Primark for plain jerseys, and camisoles that are cheap so that they can be binned next season when back is black.
Most of the young don't read magazines created for the teen scene, they prefer to get a sense of mature fashion from the pages from Vogue and Harper's Bazaar. This is why you normally find 12-13 year olds dressing like adults.
So when leather graced the catwalk of London Fashion Week, thanks to scottish designer Christopher Kane, the trendy caught on. Inevitably, leather found its way to the british high street and onto the backs of the next generation. An adult may believe that leather seems too dominatrix to be worn for strolling through town centre but many teens find fashion so addictive that they are slaves to it.
This seasons shoes are amazing, there is such a variety to chose from, personally I am a clothes person, but this seasons shoes makes me want to go YSL now and get my pair of platform tributes. If you prefer something not so high then go for Doctor Marten boots, take a leaf out of model Agyness Deyn's book and team them with minidresses to create a quirky look. If you're not so eccentric then go for demi boots, not to be confused with ankle boots, these shoes are boots that stop and the heel. Simple black should suffice cause the colour goes with anything and everything.
Speaking of black, which moves us onto winter, the realatively new black on black trend will have teens bringing black back and stuffing colours away. You're probably thinking, how can one trend go out and come back in during one season. My answer to the question is, fashion is a funny thing. So then why is everyone obsessed with it? I'll leave you to answer that because, to be honest, I don't know myself.
